REVIEW #3: NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM

9:42 PM Lippie 0 Comments

Hi everyone, today's review is on the ever popular NYX with its Soft Matte Lip Cream range. I only got to know about this brand and range last year and after trying it out, i started to like matte lippies alot haha...before that i only wore glossy lipsticks.

Nyx has quite a range of lipsticks...but i have not tried the others yet...hence i can't comment how good/bad they are...

I purchased 3 different colour shades in total :

1. Manila #33
2. Zurich #14
3. Cannes #19

Manila was the very first lippie i bought from Nyx and i'll start with it first :)

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: MANILA, ZURICH, CANNES

Now, we'll look at the next colour, Cannes #19 =)

Cannes #19
When i first looked at the colour shades available at the Nyx counter in Sephora, i didn't try out Cannes/Zurich as i thought they were dark brownish colours and went for the lighter coral, pinkish colours instead. However, after watching a few youtube videos on the different colour swatches that bloggers did, i realised Cannes and Zurich are 2 super nice terracotta colours that can be worn everyday. I much prefer Cannes over to Zurich as Zurich is a bit too light for my liking...I like Cannes also because it is the most pigmented and even colour when i apply it to my lips.

I realised that for Nyx, it's better if you wait for about 1 minute after applying for it to dry up so that it is longer lasting.

Cannes #19

Yay...as you can see, the colour turns out brownish pink and it's a soft colour you can definitely wear for any occasion! I like how the colour is even and doesn't appear patchy at all :) I'm gonna finish using Cannes and will definitely buy it again! ^0^

Finally, Zurich!

Zurich is a shade slightly lighter than Cannes and it's also abit more pinkish. I think it's abit too light for me and somehow it makes the flaky and dry parts of my lips stand out even more...haha forgive my terrible looking lips but ya...just to show that it doesn't look so nice...

Zurich #14

THE GOOD:
1) It does live up to its name of being moisturising
2) Feels light on the lips
3) Suitable for dry and flaky lips especially for darker shades as it glides smoothly
4) Cheap! It's only $11 in Sephora
5) Comes in a wide range of colours

THE BAD:
1) Not long lasting as you need to reapply it after meals
2) Transferrable

VERDICT: I would rate it 8/10 because i feel that i like it enough to re-purchase it again and i like how it is moisturising yet creamy matte :)

Stay tuned for my next lippie review! :D
